I can understand why main steet media would be confused regarding the future of oil production. It seems like everywhere you look - EIA, IEA, Suadi Arabia, Norway,UK, there are optimistic assessments of future production. It is only the peak oil folks who come up with significantly lower indications, time and again.

Gail - I keep wondering whether I (we) have got this all wrong.  But you just have to look at the NPDs 2004 forecasting record to see that everyone else is probably wrong and we are probably right.  It is time to start keeping records on the optimists - and to hold them to account - if they are wrong.
